New to Our Church?

Welcome to our church!
We hope will you worship with us this Sunday morning. To help you feel comfortable on your first visit to First Melissa, we have tried to answer many of the common questions asked by first time guests.

Do you offer childcare?
First Melissa is committed to loving children and teaching them God's love and the truth of God's Word. We have excellent nursery and children's facilities staffed by loving workers who care for our children in a safe, secure, entertaining atmosphere. Our preschool and children's classes are divided by age groups, from babies to 5th graders. Click here for information on our preschool ministry and here for information on our children's ministry.

When are the worship services?
Our Sunday morning worship services are at 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am each week. Pastor Trey Graham teaches the truth of God's Word in a relevant and insightful way to encourage our members to live the faithful Christian life each day. Our Worship Pastor, Kevin Barham, and his team of talented musicians use their gifts to lead us into God's presence through a contemporary, exciting time of praise and worship. On Wednesdays at 7:00 pm, we offer a wonderful mid-week worship service called "The Source".

What should I wear?
Members and guests who attend our Sunday morning services dress in a casual or business casual manner. Come just as you are. We are honored to have you as our guest.

Do you offer Bible study classes for adults?
During our Bible Study hours (9:30 and 11:00 am), we have Life Groups for adults of all ages and stages of life. Our members tell us that they make their closest friends and receive the most encouragement and support in their weekly Bible study classes.

Does my preschooler attend worship?
All preschoolers (infants through age 3) are cared for during the worship services by the loving workers of our preschool ministry. Children ages 4 - Pre-Kindergarten attend a Bible study class especially for them. All other children (Kindergarten - 5th grade) attend the worship service with their parents.

How can I learn more about First Melissa?
You can gain information several ways. You may call or come by the church office during office hours for additional information. When visiting on Sunday, be sure to complete the Guest Information Card inside the Worship Guide and turn it into the office via the offering plate. The Welcome Center in our foyer has lots of helpful information. You can ask the Greeters for assistance or watch the TVs in our hallways for important announcements.

Is there a class for New Members?
Our Discover Membership class meets once per month at 11:00 am. This one-hour orientation is designed to provide our new members and prospective members with information about First Melissa, our church staff, our various ministries, and how newcomers can feel at home and find their place of service. You can find the dates each month by consulting our Sunday worship guide, though this class usually meets on the first Sunday of each month.
